Programs & Services

Clark Conservation District offers a range of voluntary programs and free assistance tailored to the needs of our community. All services are provided completely free. We often have funding to help with projects big and small. Whether you’re a land manager or not, rural or urban, managing a forest or just a few trees, we want to make it easier to steward the land in Clark County.

If you already know what assistance you need, please use our assistance form. Otherwise peruse some of our programs, services & projects below.

Farm Conservation Planning

Clark Conservation District offers free assistance to farmers and residents implementing conservation practices on their land. When you access our knowledge, skills, and abilities, we call that technical assistance. We also work with residents to provide financial assistance for implementing some of these best management practices.

Farm Equipment Rentals

Clark Conservation District has several pieces of farm equipment available for loan to Clark County residents. Year-round we have a poultry processing unit, and during select times of the year we have a manure spreader.

Manure Exchange

Do you have too much manure on your land? Are you in need of manure for your garden? Join our manure exchange! We coordinate between those in need of free organic fertilizer and livestock owners that have excess manure.

Forestry Conservation Planning

Whether you have one tree or two hundred we want to help you keep your forest healthy. When you access our knowledge, skills, and abilities, we call that technical assistance. We also work with landowners to access financial assistance for implementing some of these best management practices.

Streamside Restoration

Are you looking for technical advice about stream health on your property? Wanting to improve your riparian buffer and habitat? We’re excited to now offer the Free Tree Program, now funded and available to landowners. The Free Tree Program helps landowners build and enhance the riparian buffers on their property.

Project Highlights

Poop Smart Clark is an outreach program focused on reducing bacteria from poop in our local waterways. You can learn more by visiting the Poop Smart Clark website.

The Family Forest Fish Passage Program (FFFPP) helps residents and landowners in removing culverts and other structures that block fish like salmon and trout from moving upstream. By providing funding, nearly 400 residents in Washington have been able to create 1149 miles of stream habitat since 2003.

Native Plant Sale

One of the best ways to help the environment is to create habitat for the creatures that call it home. Every year we work with local nurseries to sell plants that are native to Washington. Whether you need a few flowers to brighten up your balcony or hundreds of trees to start a forest, we are happy to help you with your native plants.
