Backyard Habitat Certification Program:

The certification process helps people on properties less than one acre in size improve wildlife habitat on their property. Technicians conduct site visits and give participants recommendations specific to their properties.

They also have lots of online resources about each of the five elements of a backyard habitat—native plants, noxious weeds, pesticide reduction, stormwater management, and wildlife stewardship.

(Note: the current waitlist for site visits in Clark County is approximately 6 months; however, you can access their online resources at any time.)

Clark County Master Gardener Program

Master Gardeners are community volunteers who receive in-depth training in gardening and horticulture from WSU. After passing the training, Master Gardeners answer gardening and landscaping questions, put on workshops and events, and produce educational content to share their knowledge with the rest of the community. The program also maintains a YouTube Page where you can watch past webinars and instructional videos.

Clark CD Watershed Stewardship Program

Our Watershed Stewardship program includes a webinar all about plants—including key native and invasive species found in different areas of our county. This is a great introduction to the impacts native plants can have on the overall environment and water quality!
